Compositions

Wind and Rhythm
Erhu and piano, chamber orchestra or orchestra. Xu Ke personally performed this composition at its premiere in the Tokyo Bunkakaikan Recital Hall, presented by the Tokyo Musician Association, on March 11, 1992. The first recording of the work was also performed by Xu Ke with the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, and was released on Oct 21, 1994 on the BMG Japan (RCA) label.

Think of....
Erhu and chamber orchestra, or either a piano or an orchestra. This work was premiered by Xu Ke with The Tokyo Symphony Chamber Orchestra at Tokyo Bunkakaikan Concert Hall, March 23, 1993, presented by the Tokyo Musician's Association. A recording of Mr. Xu playing this composition with the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra on October 21, 1994 was released by BMG Japan.

Enjoy the Countryside
Erhu and chamber orchestra, piano, or orchestra. Mr. Xu played the Erhu and was accompanied by the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra during the premiere of this work on March 23, 1993 at the Tokyo Bunkakaikan Concert Hall.

Lullaby for Xu Duo
Erhu with string quartet. Mr. Xu debuted this work at Tokyo IMA Hall on September 30, 1996. First recording by Xu Ke with string quartet and released by Sep 30, 1996 on the BMG Japan (RCA label).

Desert of Dun Huang
Erhu with orchestra or piano. This work was premiered on October 16, 2004 at the Tokyo Bunka-kaikan with En Shao (conductor) and the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra.

Yellow Sand Ancient Road
Erhu with orchestra or piano. This work premiered October 16, 2004 at the Tokyo Bunka-kaikan with Conductor En Shao and the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra.
